Dunoon Community Radio
We are delighted that Dunoon Community Radio is now live and broadcasting, not just over the airwaves but also via the internet.
The station is run completely by volunteers and has a rich mixture of programming to suit all tastes. The Gathering Manager was delighted to have been interviewed live on air last night (8th March) and was impressed by the professionalism of those involved and he looks forward to working with them in the future, Including hopefully having them transmitting live from this year's Gathering.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers at Cowal 2009
2009 Summary
The
Highland Dancing competitions attracted the best once again and each year the bar is raised. Congratulations to Robyn Hart-Winks. Morgan Bamford and David Wilton three deserving World Champions for 2009.
The
Heavy Events, always a crowd pleaser, involved the audience around the stadium with cheers and cries of disappointment when the cabers were being tossed.
The top field was very busy as the Ceilidh tent continues to draw in a bigger audience each year. It was standing room only inside and outside as the crowds applauded and danced to the bands which featured the Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Skerryvore. The musicianship was excellent from all the bands and it now seems that this is establishing itself as a firm favourite with the crowd.
2009 saw the introduction of a childrens entertainment tent featuring clowns, magicians, Punch and Judy shows and face painters. Also new in 2009 was the food court provided by Food from Argyll, a collaboration of local food producer bring the very best of fresh, local quality food to the visitors to the gathering.
