To do that would be crazy. There are planty bands playing in the arena. Pay the 10 pounds! Not alot of money for a whole days entertainment and you will see plenty of bands marching down the road at night when the hard work has been done. Cowal is by far the best competition of the year. Great memories. 05 April 2008 Annie Lamberto from AustraliaI think the Cowal Gathering is a great competition. We recently had world champion David Wilton come to Australia to compete at our C of C and he is a really fantastic dancer! Good luck to everyone going to Cowal this year, you are very lucky! 20 March 2008 MAIDA SEEDORF from United StatesSpent many years at Cowal. Hope to visit again soon. I left Dunoon in 1969! So many great memories. 06 September 2007 Karen Keenan from United KingdomVery well done to Ellis Hayes from Newton Stewart you did fab!!! Hopefully you'll be the next world champion!!! 02 September 2007 Fiona Walker from United KingdomAs a local (working away) I always come for the games. What happened to the bands going up the street, this is after all what makes us different. Council decision? I also missed seeing the young bands compete in the street being in a tent means a lot people will not see them. There are a lot of locals who dont get to the park as they are working in hotels etc.
Other changes inside were great. 31 August 2007 Willie from 'The Sinclair Crew' from United KingdomThis was our 10th year at Cowal, we enjoyed them as we always do, but what a let down not to have the bands marching up the street, PLEASE BRING THEM BACK !! 30 August 2007 Alex Patterson from United KingdomVery disappointed that the bands didn't march up to the venue on arrival at Dunoon. The atmosphere wasn't the same without this! 29 August 2007 Jim Bekusch. from United KingdomHi all at Cowal administration.

Disgraceful that it took us over three hours to get out of the car park and on to the Ferry. Sort it out, Cowal!! Strathclyde Constabulary are letting you down!! 26 August 2007 John Wallace from United KingdomThis was my 6th time at Cowal and I thought they were the best yet. We had a little rain this year but it didn't dampen the spirits of the crowds. For the first time you could actually get close and listen to the bands which was fantastic. The lower grade bands were up on the field at the top and this was better. My partner was saying if she could get closer to the dancing it would be perfect. 26 August 2007 Pipe Band Drummer from United Kingdoma pipe band player who for years detested coming to Cowal, and only came because of its championships status I would like to congratulate the Cowal Committee on the hard work and effort with the RSPBA to ensure for me and many other players this was the best cowal games yet. Access to Grade 1 and 2, seperate arenas, no cycling around the track, crowds could get close enough to hear.o hear. Praise 25 August 2007 John Russell from United KingdomCowal Games 2007 was yet another fantastic occasion and as a Scotsman I was proud to have been there.
