We are delighted to confirm the line up for this year's Cowal Ceilidh Tent.
As usual we have gone for a mix of up and coming bands who are making a name for themselves, and sure to go places, with one of the most experienced ceilidh bands on the circuit and to top it off something contemporary.
We are delighted to have
Trail West opening the tent this year.
Trail West are an up and coming ceilidh band from the Isle of Tiree. Consisting of Ian Smith (Accordion/ Midi Bass), Andrew Findlater (Drums/ Vocals) and Alain Campbell (Guitar/ Bagpipes), Trail West offer a refreshing yet traditional West Coast Ceilidh Band sound.
.
To date Trail West have completed two tours of the West of Scotland, performing in places such as Barra, Mull, Islay and Stornoway and at festivals such as the Mull Music Festival, the first ever Tiree Music Festival and Barrafest, enthralling audiences with their entertaining style of West Coast music. Their progress was rewarded when the band were nominated for the 'Scottish Dance Band of the Year' category at the MG Alba Scots Trad Music Awards 2010.
Trail West will play 2 sets this year, firstly opening the tent nd then they will be back on immediately before the headline act.
Next up in the tent and returning by popular demand is
Gunna Sound.
Returning to the Cowal Ceilidh tent for the 3rd time since its inception is Gunna Sound.
Campbell Brown and Johnny Scoular will be joined by guest musicians and will be playing their usual eclectic mix of songs, music and good craic. Gunna Sound are one of Scotlands most popular ceilidh bands and are definitely not to be missed. Lots of dancing and fun guaranteed!
